Applications

Application Notes
Applications Validated by Active Motif:
ICC/IF: 1:2,000 dilution
WB: 1:500 - 1:2,000 dilution
For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at 4°C. Individual optimization may be required.
Immunogen
This HNF4A antibody was raised against a peptide derived from the N-terminal region of human HNF4A.
Buffer
Purified IgG in PBS with 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.
HNF4A antibody (pAb) tested by Immunofluorescence.
Formaldehyde fixed HeLa cells stained with HNF4A antibody at a 1:2,000 dilution.
HNF4A antibody (pAb) tested by Western blot.
Whole cell extract (20 µg) of Hep G2 cells probed with HNF4A antibody at a dilution of 1:500.
Background
HNF4A (hepatocyte nuclear receptor 4A, NR2A1, TCF14) is an orphan nuclear receptor and activator of transcription. HNF4A is major regulator of the hepatocytic phenotype and regulates genes involved in the control of lipid homeostasis. Mutations in HNF4A can cause maturity onset diabetes of the young (MODY1). HNF4A binds DNA as a homodimer and is involved in the development of the liver, kidney and intestine.
Positive Control
Active Motif's Hep G2 whole-cell extract (Catalog No. 36412) can be used as a positive control for HNF4A antibody.
Storage
Some products may be shipped at room temperature. This will not affect their stability or performance. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles by aliquoting items into single-use fractions for storage at -20°C for up to 2 years. Keep all reagents on ice when not in storage.
