Applications

Published Applications
The following applications have been published using this antibody. Unless noted above, Active Motif may not have validated the antibody for use in these applications:
ICC/IF
WB
Immunogen
This CHD1 antibody was raised against a peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of mouse CHD1.
Buffer
Purified IgG in 70 mM Tris (pH 8), 105 mM NaCl, 31 mM glycine, 0.07 mM EDTA, 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.
Background
CHD1 (Chromo-ATPase/Helicase-DNA-binding protein 1 ) is a member of the CHD family of ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling factors implicated in RNA polymerase II transcriptional regulation. They are characterized by the presence of a double chromodomains (Chromatin Organization Modifier) and SNF2-related helicase/ATPase domains. The CHD1/CHD2 sub-family of CHD proteins also contain a C-terminal DNA binding domain that recognizes AT-rich sequences. CHD proteins alter gene expression possibly by modification of chromatin structure thus altering access of the transcriptional apparatus to its chromosomal DNA template. CHD1 has been shown to interact with histone H3 trimethylated at lysine 4 (H3K4Me3) and also is required for the maintenance of stem cell pluripotency.
Positive Control
Active Motif's HeLa nuclear extract (Catalog No. 36010) can be used as a positive control for CHD1 antibody.
