Description
Inhibits DNA methyltransferase (ref 1). A selective Sp1 inhibitor, it binds to GC rich DNA sequences, displacing Sp1 transcription factor binding to oncogene promoters, inhibiting their expression (ref 2). Mithramycin A (at 10-200 nM) sensitizes tumor cells to TRAIL-induced apoptosis (ref 3).
Contents
Yellow powder. May be dissolved in DMSO (20 mg/ml); or ethanol (10 mg/ml).
Storage Conditions
Store desiccated as supplied at -20° for up to 2 years. Store solutions at -20°C for up to 1 month.
