Description

Valproic acid analog. Histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor (IC50 = 13 M)(ref 1). More potent and robust than valproic acid at inducing histone hyperacetylation (600% at 50 M), HSP70 induction and protection against glutamate excitotoxicity in cultured neurons (ref 2). Cell permeable.

Colorless oil. May be dissolved in DMSO (25 mg/ml); Ethanol (25 mg/ml).

Storage Conditions

Store desiccated as supplied at room temperature for up to 2 years. Store solutions at -20°C for up to 3 months.
